Consultations Abroad
Ireland. Italy. The Balkans.
Learning in Places That Have Suffered
From time to time we travel with a small group of friends. Some of these journeys carry the Issachar name. Others are simply Leaders and Followers consultations. All share the same shape: few people, unhurried days, honest conversation and prayer.
In Ireland we walked the history of a divided island with those who have laboured for reconciliation there, and listened to what forgiveness has cost them.
In Italy we gathered around long tables in the hills, where friendship, Scripture and good food made room for conversations that a conference room never allows.
In the Balkans we have sat with parliamentarians, pastors and peacemakers who are still binding up wounds within living memory.

Nothing is broadcast. There are no platforms and no press. What travels home is what always travels home from a good table: friendship, perspective, and a clearer sense of what faithfulness requires.

Our peacebuilding work in divided places is described on the Peacebuilding page.
